Hands and Feet

September 21, 2008

It was a good trip this weekend.

We arrived late on Friday and basically had enough time to set up our tent and get ready for bed.

Saturday was a gorgeous day at Shovel Point, and we got in a few good climbs including a couple of 5.10b’s.  I guess the Fat Boys are 5.10 climbers after all.  The prettiest climb was probably Gold Plated named after the deep yellow-orange lichen that grows all over the rocks.  It is also the dirtiest climb on the North Shore.  I had enough crap in my eyes to irritate them for the rest of the trip.

Sunday was just cold, cold, cold, at Palisade head.  I climbed Superior Crack which was a hard, manky off-width with tough sections at the very start and just before the end.  The middle however, was classy and fantastic.  I think the 5.8+ rating might be a bit misleading.
