Double Double

Adam and I took a double kayak out on Lake George and practiced some paddling. We were really flying, but I think we would need to spend some more time in one of those things before we could sustain a decent speed for a long time. They take some real effort to paddle. So, the trip this weekend will likely be in singles.
We tried a couple of rolls, but it was a little bit too much for us. I think if we had a more narrow kayak it would be easier. We’ve decided to bring camping gear on our trip and simply paddle sunrise to sunset rather than non-stop. We both have jobs and I have class and neither of us can spare the recovery time a 36-48 paddle without sleep would need.
I haven’t been out and about in a while, and this is the sort of trip I need.
